| We moved into the caravan at the end of Dec 2014. This was taken in Nov 2017 beginning of our winter of snow. |

January has been all about our new home: Waiting to move
in!!!
The WAIT has been forever and we have all had to be very
measured in dealing with the time of not knowing when the furniture would
arrive.
We had enjoyed an afternoon in October time ordering a whole
house full of furniture. As it turned out this was a significant challenge as
we had not really got our heads around the size of the rooms we were thinking
to put furniture in. The experience of buying so much furniture at one time
became overwhelming as we lost perspective of the size of the furniture in each
of the rooms. At the point of delivery we had forgotten what we had actually ordered
or what the furniture looked like, so quite an interesting perspective when
waiting for the furniture to arrive.
Completion on the house sale was in early-mid December, the
last of the furniture arrived late January, so a long wait hence a long time to
forget what we had actually ordered. Fortunately, on a subconscious level, all
the furniture in each room with venetian blinds has worked well together.
PHEW!!!
We moved into our new home over a long weekend. The novelty
factor kicked in, as amusingly, lights were flicked on and off because we can
and not overload the circuit. Lots of politeness as all enjoyed knocking on
doors, Dylan following suit as he instructed Milo that next time he came to his
room he should knock on his door too! Although Milo has sneaked one of the small
fan heaters in his bedroom, he missed the droning noise and the direct heat on
his feet. He always had a fan heater on all year round for heat or coolness as
required. In the winter we were rationed with the amount of heat allowed, too
much and the electric would trip. We burnt out the electric with plugs and
sockets becoming fused, this was close a number of times. Hence Milo’s delight
to overload on his fan heater!
Settling into the house has taken time, we have all felt out
of sorts. The experience has been strange all of us needing some time to adapt,
which was not what we had expected. The quietness has been very noticeable
cannot hear the early morning birds and snuffling night time wildlife nor the
empty lorries hurtling down the country lanes in the early hours bouncing over
the potholes etc. Adjusting to space has made us feel aloof for a little while,
some adapted quicker than others. The quickest delights was Milo’s door
shutting and Dylan wallowing in the bath.
The challenge has been, as is for everyone, in finding homes for stuff which has still beaten us. At present we continue to need to organise box contents into places which are being stored in a variety of hidden places whilst all the draws in both living room and bedroom have nothing in them. Looks good though!

The very first item to be unpacked and home clearly decided
upon, then used before we were even in the door was Jerry’s indulgence, a new
coffee machine. The new kitchen item we have all found great enjoyment in
(sadly!) is a fancy toaster, having had years using an oven grill a lovely
modern toaster is wonderful. I have
after many years of being ridiculed about the value a dishwasher now own one
and now love it. I enjoy the process of loading it properly, the really intense
clean of a dish washer then the unloading. So far I am the only one who has claimed
this task. After admitting this I am anticipating being mocked as I have
resisted the need for a dishwasher for many many years – really pleased I have
got one now!
Our weekends at the present are about enjoying a pleasant
movie on our big TV with sound bar on our recliner sofa in really comfortable
open living area. Bliss. We knew we were home when Norfolk Stones were found
outside the front door! X
Some pictures of our home, for those of you who are not able
to get to us and those who have not been able to come round just yet. Hope you
enjoy them.

Discovering the delights of Hingham has been good fun too. We have ventured to the other end of the village to a well equip playground which turned into joining the social club with a few welcome drinks so we fell into the White Hart pub on our way home for tea. No more to be said really!

| Norfolk Stones appeared much to Dylan's delight! (Vicki flat ted is still a very important part of Dylan's life!) |
